Louis Vorstermans

Hi, I'm a freelance translator of Flemish and Dutch into English. Although born in the Netherlands, I have lived in Australia all of my adult life, where I completed my education, ending with a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. My first language is English.

After a long career in senior management (CEO level), which took me to Papua New Guinea and Sydney for a while, I have now been back in Melbourne for 20 years, working as a freelance translator and business consultant. I work for a range of clients, most of whom are based in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Although we have a distinctive Australian accent (twang), we speak the Queen's English in Australia. We are GMT + 8 or 10 (daylight saving), but Europeans can contact us during their morning hours (our early evening), which works well for all concerned.

Because of my background and training, most of my translation work involves commercial, legal and official documents, including documents requiring NAATI certification. I use the latest CAT tools and take pride in the professionalism that sets a skilled translator apart from the enthusiastic amateur/beginner.
